The Pokeworks quick service restaurant concept was introduced in 2015 in Southern California featuring a ‘poke menu’, a unique, native Hawaiian dish traditionally made from diced seafood, frequently tuna, salmon or octopus, marinated with soy sauce, sesame oil, and other seasonings. Eat Up Canada Inc., the Toronto-based restaurant hospitality firm launched by George Heos and Alex Gerzon in 2021, acquired the Master Franchise right for Canada in mid-2022 and in November 2023, opened the first location in Canada, on North Queen St in Etobicoke in West Toronto, across from the Sherway Gardens.
